Bright Futures Await the Class of 2025

Joy and pride underscored All-Campus Commencement, with the Class of 2025 honored for their strength, resiliency and dedication through an inspiring and engaging speech by UC San Diego alumnus Mark Allen.

An All-American swimmer while at UC San Diego, Allen graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biology in 1980. He is a six-time IRONMAN World Champion, earning his first IRONMAN Triathlon World Championship title in 1989 and winning five more attempts during his 15-year competitive career.

“The world of possibility is waiting for each and every single one of you,” Allen shared with the graduates. “Believe in yourself. Be yourself. Be the best version of yourself that you can be.”
